Consolidate debt loan - Save money on a new Kitchen!!!
So you need a Brand New Kitchen and want quality and value? Well you can have it at a fraction of the cost, without loss of quality and without using all your savings. Let me tell you how. Do not go to one of these all singing all dancing complete kitchen companies. I now it may be tempting to think that they will come in fairy god mother like, and whoosh their magic wand and all will be done. Sorry, little tip here it very rarely happens this way. Now, let me tell you how to get started. First of all, measure the kitchen and make a note of where all the important things such as water supply, cooker point etc are. Now get yourself down to one of those big horrible DIY superstores. Now most of them, if you give them your measurements and tell them what you are looking for in a kitchen, e.g. where you want the washing machine etc. They will then produce for you a brilliant, to scale plan! Now, here's probably the worst thing that you will have to do... call a plumber, a carpenter and an electrician and get firm quotes arranged for the work your plumber and electrician can get all you need at a really good price by way of taps, boxes and fitting. Make it clear to these trades men that you want a good reasonably priced job at the outset and that you will be seeking other quotes. Don't be afraid to negotiate with them even once you get the quote. I have managed to get builders to reduce their initial quote by 50% before now so question and ask questions. Here is the next all important tip for you to get your head around. It doesn't matter how much you pay for a kitchen unit... the actual carcass of the units are all the same. If you pay £40 or £800 per unit. Same carcass. Now... take a good look at your kitchen cupboards... how are the insides? Good? Great, so... just buy new doors! I am a trained interior designer if you are wondering, so I really do know what I am talking about! Now, you can afford some pretty snazzy doors, handles, work top and lovely fitting with the money you will save! I have renovated and refitted many a clients kitchen, to a superb high quality, standard and finish for around £5000 that's for a large kitchen, when a kitchen company has quoted them £15,000 or more. I was able to get a client a solid marble off - cut for kitchen work tops by going to a stone mason and buying an off cut of marble, for less than the price of the cheapest tackiest worktop available in a DIY discount superstore. Now if you want all your appliances replaced and inbuilt. It can cost a pretty penny. Now here is a great money saving tip... companies like Moben and many other suppliers of in built appliances have a huge sale every January. There are some absolute steal to be had on everything you need to have a brand new high quality kitchen. So my advice would be - if you want to save thousands, start to plan in October and plan to buy and fit in January! It may take a bit of running around and planning, but this could save you £10,000 or even more! Technorati Tags: Quality kitchen cheap-money saving tipsPosted by Admin at 2006-08-26 16:16, Home
